Watch a recap of City being presented with our Men’s Club of the Year award at the 2023 Ballon d’Or.

City Studios produced a Matchday Live show to cover events from the 67th annual ceremony, held at Theatre du Chatelet in Paris on Monday night.

It was a great evening for us, with Erling Haaland winning the Gerd Muller Trophy for highest scoring striker as well as second spot, behind Lionel Messi, in the overall Men’s Ballon d’Or as one of an incredible five City players in the Top 10.

Josko Gvardiol finished in 25th and Ruben Dias in 30th while in the women’s category, Bunny Shaw finished 24th, Yui Hasegawa 27th and Jill Roord 29th.

Ederson, meanwhile, was also runner-up in the Yashin Trophy, behind Messi’s World Cup teammate Emiliano Martinez of Aston Villa.

As part of our coverage, fronted by Natalie Pike alongside Shaun Goater, Steph Houghton and Nedum Onuoha, it was a special moment when Ferran Soriano, our CEO, headed onto the stage alongside our men’s Ballon d’Or nominees, to collect the Club of the Year prize.
