Sandwiched between the goals were a flurry of City chances, the best falling to Gabriel Jesus, who was denied superbly by David De Gea. The shot-stopper also expertly saved from Kevin de Bruyne as City piled on the pressure after the opener.
Gundogan feels that on another day, City could have scored a lot more.
"It was really fun actually, quite enjoyable," he said. "It was a great first half where we could have scored even more goals. It could have been three or four at half time. Their keeper made some incredible saves in the first half, it was great.

"Second half it was about being patient, keep the ball, keep possession, pass the ball, get into a rhythm and not give them any chances. I can't remember them having a chance in the second half.
"The way we approached the game and played throughout the 90 minutes was impressive, now we have to maintain that after the international break."
The midfielder also spoke about Bernardo's goal and what City have to do to challenge for the title this season.
