Bernardo Silva flicked us ahead just before the interval and with Pep Guardiola‘s men set to settle for a one goal advantage, Foden slotted in a third goal deep into second half stoppage time.

The goal provides a crucial two-goal cushion ahead of the return leg at the Etihad Stadium next month.

Foden said: “I’m delighted with that one just before the end of the game.

“It’s such an important goal as well, so yeah, I’m very happy.

“I’m delighted with that performance. I think getting the early goal settled us a little bit.
