Erling and Alfie Haaland: Father and son react to two-footed tackles, goals and old City clips

Erling Haaland took time out from his signing day activations to sit down with his dad and watch clips of Alfie’s City career.

Erling winces at some of his dad’s enthusiastic tackles, telling him a lot of the challenges would "be a red card today. dad!"

“Thankfully, there was no VAR back then,” Alfie responds...

There are goals, bone-crunching challenges, missed opportunities and various stories of Alfie’s time with City, and it is evident it was a period of his career he remains very proud of.

There’s even the clip of our former Norwegian midfielder handing his shirt to a City fan, only to have to ask for it back as the game hadn’t finished!

Erling also asks about the time his dad bought the petrol for a mini-bus full of travelling City supporters at a service station after feeling bad about a defeat and his performance.

Together they discuss Maine Road, the Etihad and how special the City supporters are and how much Erling is looking forward to celebrating in front of them.

"I've been to see City a lot of times," smiles Erling.

And there’s also a nice touch at the end to go with the image of Erling’s famous City shirt with ‘Dad’ on the back.

So, sit back and enjoy Erling and Alfie just being father and son on the video above as they journey down memory lane…
