We needed late goals from Guéhi and Josko Gvardiol to take all three points against a stubborn Cherries side who had taken the lead in the first half through Marcus Tavernier.
It was no less than we deserved, having had the better of the game for much of the afternoon in Maresca’s first Premier League game as City boss.

As well as praising the fans and the spirit of team, Maresca highlighted the all-round contribution of Guéhi, who was in an unfamiliar central midfield role alongside Elliot Anderson and Nico O’Reilly.
“Fantastic,” he began in an interview with City Studios.
“His performance was very good and he scored a goal, so it was the complete performance from him.”
Guéhi’s midfield peer Anderson enjoyed a strong showing on his debut until he was withdrawn just under half an hour remaining.
However, Maresca says there’s nothing to worry about with the England international.
“I think it was cramp,” said Maresca.
“There are four or five players who are not 100% and he is one of them.
“For them, it’s like pre-season. They arrive very late and started working with us 10 days ago. Their effort has been unbelievable.”
