Reis joined the Blues in January 2025 from Brazilian outfit Palmeiras.
The centre-back then joined CFG club Girona in August 2025 on a season-long loan and made 36 league appearances for the La Liga outfit - earning rave reviews in the process.
Maresca has been watching him closely in the past month since the start of pre-season and has been pleased with what he’s seen with the Brazilian playing the second half of our games against Inter and K-League All Stars.

The Italian boss says a decision on his immediate future, as well as that of several younger members of the squad, will be taken ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
“Vitor is working very well,” said the manager.
“I am happy with him.
“The only thing is for most of the young players here with us, the plan is to finish pre-season and then take the final decision.
“And we will take the best decision for them, not just us.”
