Held in Seoul in partnership with Coupang, the Manchester City Youth Clinic brought together 50 young players for an inclusive football session led by Manchester City coaches, designed to support technical development, teamwork and confidence both on and off the pitch.
The event formed part of the Club’s wider engagement programme during the tour, providing young participants with the opportunity to learn from City in the Community coaches and experience the values that underpin Manchester City’s approach to player development.
For 10-year-old Hyunmin, the experience represented another step in a football journey inspired by Manchester City.
“My journey with Manchester City began when my father watched the Club win the Premier League title on the final day of the season,” explained Hyunmin.
“Seeing the team fight until the very end and achieve such an incredible comeback made us lifelong fans.”
Reflecting on the opportunity to take part in the clinic, Hyunmin added, “I was really excited to take part in this Youth Clinic. I hoped I’d not only improve my football skills, but also learn more about teamwork, never giving up and always doing my best.
“It meant a lot to have the chance to learn from Manchester City coaches and create memories I’ll never forget.”
Another participant, Jinwoong, was returning after attending Manchester City’s Winter Camp in Samcheok earlier this year.
The earlier experience had left a lasting impression and strengthened a passion for football that continues to grow.
“Earlier this year, I attended Manchester City’s Winter Camp in Samcheok,” said Jinwoong.
“It was a memorable experience that strengthened my passion for football and inspired me to continue improving.
“I dream of becoming a footballer and, although I know I still have a lot to learn, I work hard every day to become a better player.”
Throughout the clinic, participants took part in a variety of coaching activities and small-sided games, designed to develop key technical skills including passing, movement and ball control. Led by Manchester City coaches, the sessions encouraged teamwork, communication and confidence, while ensuring every player had the opportunity to learn in a fun and supportive environment.
The clinic also featured a visit from Manchester City legend Shaun Wright-Phillips, giving participants the opportunity to take photos, collect autographs and hear first-hand about his experiences as a professional footballer. Sharing stories from his career and offering words of encouragement, Shaun inspired the young players as they continue their own football journeys.
As Manchester City’s pre-season tour continued in Seoul, the Youth Clinic provided another opportunity to connect with local communities and inspire the next generation through the power of football.
