Classic highlights: City 3-2 Bayern Munich 2014

On this day in 2014, Sergio Aguero was the hero as we fought back for a thrilling Champions League victory over Bayern Munich.

The City striker scored a hat-trick as we fought back to snatch a dramatic 3-2 victory over the German champions at the Etihad Stadium.

Aguero gave us the lead in the 21st minute from the penalty spot after he was brought down by Mehdi Benatia who was also shown a red card.

But Bayern, then managed by Pep Guardiola, hit back with goals from Xabi Alonso and Robert Lewandowksi before half-time.

Needing a win to keep our chances of Champions League qualification in our own hands, time appeared to be running out.

But up stepped Aguero with two strikes in the final five minutes to turn the game on its head and spark wild celebrations.

First he capitalised on Alonso’s misplaced pass to race clear and coolly slot an equaliser past Manuel Neuer before seizing on more uncertainty in the Bayern defence to fire home an injury time winner.

One of our most memorable Champions League games, you can watch all the goals in the video above and it is also available to watch in full on CITY+.
