Following in the footsteps of Phil Foden, Bernardo Silva and John Stones to name just a few, our Portuguese defender is the latest star to take a trip down memory lane as part of our City Unfiltered series.
After committing his future to the Club until 2027 with a new long-term deal in August, the 24-year-old has played the full 90 minutes in each of our Premier League and Champions League matches so far this season.
In that time, he’s helped Pep Guardiola’s men to register four clean sheets in his seven appearances across the new 2021-22 campaign.
That fine form is a continuation from an imperious debut season at City, in which he was named Football Writers’ Association Football of the Year, Etihad Player of the Year and UEFA Champions League Defender of the Season.
Off the back of winning those prestigious individual awards and helping City to a Premier League and Carabao Cup double, it comes as no surprise to learn that Dias ranks one of last season’s achievements as his greatest career success to date.
It’s also clear that family means a great deal to the 24-year-old, who names his brother and cousin as two of his greatest inspirations in life.
