Held at the British Embassy Seoul in partnership with international humanitarian and development organisation Good Neighbors, the event brought together 30 girls for a day of football, learning and personal development.
Designed to provide opportunities for girls who have had limited access to football, the programme uses the power of sport to help participants build confidence, develop leadership skills and discover their potential both on and off the pitch.
The day began with a football coaching session delivered by City in the Community coaches, with participants taking part in a range of activities focused on technical development, teamwork and communication.
Through a series of engaging exercises and games, the girls were encouraged to challenge themselves, work together and develop skills that can support them both in sport and everyday life.
In the afternoon, Manchester City players Rico Lewis and Max Alleyne joined participants for a special Q&A session, sharing insights from their journeys in football and discussing the importance of resilience, hard work and pursuing personal goals.
The players answered questions from participants and encouraged them to believe in their abilities, embrace new opportunities and continue striving towards their ambitions.
As part of the event, participants also received video messages from campaign ambassadors NMIXX, along with Manchester City Women’s players Lauren Hemp and Beth Mead, who shared words of encouragement and support.
Since June, the British Embassy Seoul has been delivering the “Girls Can Dream, Girls Can Achieve” campaign, which aims to empower women and girls while strengthening UK-Korea cooperation through culture and sport.
The event formed part of Manchester City’s wider community engagement programme during the Club’s pre-season tour of Asia, reinforcing the commitment to empowering healthier lives through football.
