Throughout the 2026/27 season, Manchester City’s charity, City in the Community (CITC), is celebrating 40 years empowering healthier lives through football.

The ‘40 Years’ campaign will bring together fans, participants, partners and staff for a calendar of celebration activities, fundraising opportunities and enhanced storytelling.

To bolster the campaign, Manchester City will be matching all fan donations made to CITC pound-for-pound* throughout the 2026/27 season.

To launch ‘40 Years’, CITC has released a special campaign film featuring lifelong City fan Cel Spellman, celebrating the shared sense of purpose and belonging that has connected CITC with City fans for four decades.

The charity has also gone on sale with the ‘40 Years Gala Dinner’, hosted by stand-up comedian, writer, actor, radio and television presenter, and lifelong Manchester City fan, Jason Manford, on Thursday 29 October.

Guests can look forward to an unforgettable evening featuring exceptional hospitality, inspiring stories, live entertainment and exclusive Manchester City experiences.

Commenting on the campaign, Managing Director of Operations – Matchday & Medlock Square and CITC Trustee, Danny Wilson, said:

“Forty years of positive impact is an incredible milestone for City in the Community and something everyone connected with Manchester City can be immensely proud of.

“City in the Community is an important part of Manchester City’s DNA. This anniversary gives us the opportunity to celebrate everything the charity, its staff, participants and supporters have achieved over the last four decades, whilst also leaving a legacy of impact for the next generation.

“Manchester City is proud to help mark this milestone by matching donations to City in the Community throughout the season. I hope our fans, partners and wider City family will join us in celebrating ‘40 Years’ and help the charity continue its impact for generations to come.”

Throughout the 2026/27 season, CITC will share more stories from across its 40-year history, alongside a range of opportunities for fans and supporters to celebrate, fundraise and get involved.

Supporters who want to play their part can also download CITC’s new fundraising pack, packed with ideas, inspiration and practical guidance to help individuals, groups and communities raise funds in celebration of ‘40 Years’.
