The Uzbekistan international has joined Pep Guardiola’s squad immediately as we compete across multiple fronts for the remainder of the 2024/25 season.
The 20-year-old, who will wear the No.45 at the Etihad Stadium, comes from French side Lens after impressing in Ligue 1 over the last 18 months.
He is also already a full international having claimed 18 caps for Uzbekistan as they chase World Cup qualification for the first time in their nation’s history.
City’s scouts have long followed the imposing defender’s progress and the Club have now made the move to add Khusanov to Guardiola’s squad.
After completing the formalities and signing on the dotted line, we grabbed our new defender for a chat about his reasons for moving to Manchester and his goals at the Club.
He also covers his journey to this point, starting in Tashkent and details how his father, who played professionally and also represented Uzbekistan, has helped his development.
Congratulations to Abdukodir and welcome to Manchester City!
