Still only 22, the lightning quick defender enjoyed a stellar first full campaign at City, making 47 appearances.
He grew into his role at the heart of defence as the term went on, initially deputising for Ruben Dias and Josko Gvardiol before stepping into the limelight come the turn of the year.
It was a natural step up for him and his partnership with Marc Guéhi proved pivotal in our FA Cup and League Cup victories as well as securing yet another year of Champions League football.
Not only all that, but he also made history by helping Uzbekistan to their very first World Cup.
With a fleet of foot unmatched by any opponent, strength and enthusiasm in every duel and a developing game on the ball, Khusanov has become a real fan favourite at the Etihad.
And just 18 months into his City career, everyone connected with the Club is excited to follow his development from here.
