Filmed for our brand new docuseries ‘A Beautiful Obsession’, out on Amazon Prime Video today, the clip shows the raw emotion as everyone in the room comes to term with the news.
The four-part docuseries captures the last two seasons of a defining era at the Club and Pep’s final years as manager after a decade at the helm, offering an intimate look behind-the-scenes from the boot room right through to the boardroom.
Filmed by City Studios, the series is directed by Academy and BAFTA award-winning filmmaker Kevin Macdonald, in addition to City Studios’ John De Caux and produced by Plan B/KM Films.
The series opens as City’s record-breaking run of 26 games unbeaten comes to a shuddering halt, with a string of defeats in late 2024. Viewers can then follow the Club’s journey through the 2024/25 season, including the emotional departure of Kevin De Bruyne and the arrival of new exciting talent.
The series culminates with the climax of the 2025/26 season, as Manchester City secure a domestic cup double and say farewell to Pep, Bernardo Silva and John Stones.
The series joins City Studios’ successful portfolio of documentaries which includes ‘Together: 4-in-a-row’, ‘Together: Treble Winners’ and ‘A Farewell to Txiki’ amongst other player productions. All available to watch here.
It will be available at no additional cost to Prime members and joins Prime Video’s wide selection of sports programming in the UK and Ireland this summer.
