Pep Guardiola said he had no regrets in the wake of City’s 3-1 defeat at Liverpool and insisted he was proud of the way the champions performed.

Despite dominating territory and possession for large parts at Anfield, City were undone by two goals inside the first 15 minutes from Fabinho and Mo Salah.

Sadio Mane extended the hosts’ lead early after the restart before Bernardo Silva struck with 12 minutes left

Though City couldn’t stage a dramatic late fightback, the City manager hailed both his side’s endeavour and approach at his post-match press conference.
