Aymeric Laporte says Manchester City are determined to learn the lessons from our disappointing 2-1 loss at Newcastle United and regroup in the fight for the Premier League title.
Despite taking the lead at St James’ Park after just 24 seconds through Sergio Aguero, the Blues were undone by two second half goals from the Magpies which meant we stay four points behind leaders Liverpool who have a game in hand.
As he reflected and looked forward however, Laporte insisted there was still a lot of football to be played between now and the end of the season.
“It’s always disappointing when you lose as we wanted to get closer to Liverpool and that was our goal but we need to learn and look forward and learn from our mistakes and think about the next games,” said the French central defender.
“We had chances and should have scored more goals. They had very few chances, but they were more efficient than us.
“But there are still 14 games left and we are going to fight until the end.”
