Pep Guardiola has urged City to be mentally strong and seek to bounce back to our best in Sunday’s home game with Sheffield United.

In an incident-packed Premier League trip to Wolves, 10-man City – who had Ederson sent off in the 11th minute - went 2-0 up through a Raheem Sterling brace only for Wolves to hit back with three second half goals.

And as he reflected on the game in his post-match press conference, the boss said it was vital that City sought to respond immediately in Sunday's home clash with Sheffield United.

“For the players a lot, it hurts of course but we have to be mentally strong because in less than two days we have another game,” said the boss.

“We have to move on. I said before we are used to play the first season, quite similar like now but in the second and third season we were there all the time and some of the situations we are far away. We will see what happens at the end.”
