Walker didn't feature in Gareth Southgate’s 23-man squad which was announced earlier this week for England’s forthcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers against Bulgaria and Kosovo.
But, speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of Saturday’s Premier League home clash with Brighton, the City manager said the 29-year-old’s consistency and strength of mind would continue to be key components for City.
And the manager said he was in no doubt the right back would soon be shining for country too as well as club
“Kyle’s incredibly strong and he will be back (for England),” said Pep.
“He’s played really well since the start of the season. The others (Trent Alexander-Arnold and Arron Wan-Bisaka) are incredible full backs.
“He needs to continue performing well to come back to the national team.
“Kyle’s stable in the mind and knows exactly what he has to do and performs well. He's consistent and knows he has to be an average of 7 or 8 (out of 10) all the time.”
