Pep Guardiola says he has no doubt the goals will continue to flow for City this season.
Despite an excellent display which saw City create 30 shots, including 10 on target, the champions ultimately had to settle for a 2-2 draw against Spurs on Saturday.
But despite the frustration at dropping two points and seeing so many opportunities not converted, the boss insisted his champions – who scored 95 league goals last term and 106 the season before - would quickly rediscover our renowned cutting edge in front of goal.
“We play to score goals. We have to improve but I don't have doubts that we will score a lot of goals,” Guardiola declared in his post-match press conference.
“But of course, with so many shots we would like to score five or six - we play for that.
“Of course, we have to improve. But I don’t have doubts with this amount of games we will score a lot of goals.
“In the last two seasons, we scored more than anyone else in Europe so I don’t have any doubts about that.”
