Pep Guardiola says the fierce competition for places amongst his Manchester City squad is helping bring the best out of the players.
The City manager has spoken already this season of how tough it is to select his starting eleven with so many talented players at his disposal.
But, as the boss looked ahead to Saturday's resumption of Premier League action away at West Ham, he revealed how that competition is driving his team to try and reach new heights, with City unbeaten in the league this season and two points clear at the top.
“Everybody wants to play and wants to be part of games,” said Guardiola.
“They push each other and fight for each other. It’s not about back to back or retaining titles, it’s the fact they love to play football.
“They like to do what they do and that’s why it’s easy for us.”
