Pep Guardiola believes City’s awe-inspiring 2017/18 campaign lifted the Premier League to another level.

The Blues completed the campaign with a record-breaking century of points and an all-time high goals tally, as the Champions continuously rewrote the history books.

Guardiola opines such outstanding achievements will never be repeated but asserts there will be no complacency amongst his squad.

“That is not going to happen,” he said. “We can lose games but complacency in our team is not going to happen.

“We increased the level of the Premier League. Nobody before reached 100 points – that beats the other ones (records).

“The level is now higher and every team will try to do better.

“We are not going to break any more records – that target is impossible. The records we broke last season were a consequence of what we did every single day.

“We are going to lose what we did last season. We must focus on the next game – that is the only way to ensure you are stable.”

Guardiola also discussed Wednesday night’s game against Liverpool, transfer rumours, his future at the Club and his hopes for Phil Foden, while Bernardo Silva also had his say.
