Pep Guardiola spoke to the media after our impressive win over Napoli in the Champions League and it was clear that the manager was impressed with City’s performance over 90 minutes to earn the win.
“Today we beat an incredible team and we had to give an incredible performance to do that.
“Napoli are an exceptional side so I was expecting them to be strong.”
When asked about the performance of particular players including the return of Sergio Aguero, Guardiola was quick to imply that the Argentinian would be back soon.
After conceding a goal many may have expected to see Aguero warming up but Pep was in no rush to grant his return.
He simply put it: "Sergio is very close to returning."
City had to hold off wave after wave of Italian attack, including an Ederson penalty save. This along with City’s resolute defending arguably won the blues the game.
“I think John Stones has made a step in his performance. All the back line played really well with the goalkeeper tonight.”
