Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola was impressed by the quality of his side's passing in the win over Southampton.

The Blues ran out 3-0 winners on the South Coast and head into next weekend's FA Cup semi-final against Arsenal in good spirits.

Vincent Kompany’s first goal since August 2015, Leroy Sane’s ninth of the campaign and Sergio Aguero’s 11th in as many games handed Pep Guardiola’s men all three points at St Mary’s.

A clinical, professional and solid display secured a vital victory for the visitors, lifting them to third in the Premier League table.

City dominated proceedings and netted three second half goals to claim the triumph – one of which was an excellent, well-worked breakaway goal to kill any hopes of a Saints comeback.
