It was an emotional night at the Etihad on Wednesday as Manchester City bid farewell to a Club legend.

Yaya Toure, who has spent eight years at the Club, will leave at the end of the season having won seven major trophies.

He made 316 appearances for City, scoring 82 goals, including plenty of vital ones.

No one has risen to the big occasions as often as Yaya Toure.

And after the 3-1 win over Brighton, which saw Yaya captain the side, the Ivorian was given a wonderful send-off in front of the fans.

His brother and former Blue Kolo came on the pitch to see him, captain Vincent Kompany said some powerful words and Yaya was given a framed shirt, a mosaic plaque and a lifetime season ticket.

Kompany said: "If anyone is going to be a legend at this Club, it's this man.

"I just want to say thank you to Yaya. Thank you for being a wonderful team-mate both in the dressing room and on the pitch.

"I also just want to remind everyone about the big moments Yaya has produced for this club.

"The 2011 FA Cup semi-final v United – Yaya.

"The 2011 FA Cup final v Stoke – Yaya

"The crucial League game at Newcastle in 2012 – two goals Yaya

"The crucial League game at Crystal Palace in 2014 – Yaya

"League Cup final v Sunderland in 2014 – Yaya
