De Bruyne was deservedly included in the 2017/18 PFA Team of the Year. Capable of producing magic at any moment, he has been an integral component in Pep Guardiola's swash-buckling, record-smashing side, helping the Blues to a league and cup double.

Reflecting on his outstanding campaign both individually and collectively, he smiled: "It was beautiful. To have 100 points is unbelievable. It was a very emotional end to the season."

On his personal achievements, he added: "It feels good. It means I have done a good job.

“I’m a creator and I try to create chances for my teammates. If they score, I get the assist and I look good!”

De Bruyne was revealed as the Etihad Player of the Season at City's Champions Parade on Monday by presenter and City fan Mike Wedderburn.
