Manchester City welcome Crystal Palace to the Etihad Stadium on Saturday for a crucial Premier League clash.

And there’s plenty of shared heritage between the two clubs. A host of players have played for both teams down the years, including Mark Kennedy, a winger with a wonderful left foot who was key to City’s revival under Joe Royle.

He joined after City’s playoff promotion from the old Division Two back in 1999 – and was the man who supplied the ammunition for Shaun Goater’s 30 goals that secured a second successive promotion.

He went on to play 66 league games for City, scoring 8 goals, before joining Wolves for £2 million in 2001.

Kennedy returned to the club this summer as manager of City’s under-15 side.
