Michael Okeke says City’s Elite Development Squad will seek to learn the lessons from Friday’s 2-2 draw at home to Stoke and intensify our quest to lift the PL2 title.

Ben Wilkinson’s Under-21s went into the Joie Stadium clash seeking to make it 11 wins in a row but were frustrated by a resolute and determined Stoke side who twice fought back from going behind to claim only their second point of the season.

Despite the draw, City remain top of the table, having gained 31 points from 12 games to date after a busy few days that began with Monday’s 2-1 home win over Brighton.

Reflecting on the result, midfielder Okeke said he and his colleagues were focused on kicking on and quickly getting back to winning ways.

“We came into the game aiming to win but obviously we have dropped points so we will go away and work on it and hopefully get three points next week,” Okeke said.

“We are already motivated to try and go on and win the league.

“Tonight is a bit of a knock, but everyone wants to keep winning and to keep pushing on.

“Before tonight and Monday we hadn’t had too many games for a while so we’ve had two matches back to back.

“But now we are looking forward to the games that lie ahead.”
