City Under-18s striker Luca Fletcher is full of confidence following our 4-2 Under-18 Premier League North win over Newcastle.

The forward scored twice in the first half to help City move towards a sixth consecutive win in all competitions.

It totals four goals in two games for the 16-year-old who also bagged a brace in City’s 2-1 win over Liverpool last weekend as he continues to develop in Ben Wilkinson’s side after a prolonged period on the sideline.

“It was a hard game but we came through,” said Fletcher when reflecting on the game.

“It was good to get on the score sheet, we’re in good form right now and we’re happy to get the win.

“I feel like at the start [of the season] I struggled a bit but as time has gone on I’ve been able to get into the team, I feel like I’m on a roll right now and I’ve got to keep going.

“It was very frustrating when I was injured but I feel like I did my recovery right, I did my rehab right and I’m back out now and it’s going good.”
