Elite Development Squad midfielder Charlie Gray says the squad is 'buzzing' to have secured a Manchester derby win to confirm our place in the Premier League 2 play-off final.

A second-half brace from Divin Mubama secured a 2-0 victory at the Joie Stadium on Friday evening for Ben Wilkinson’s side, seeing City progress to the play-off final for the first time since the competition’s restructure last season.

Gray has been at the heart of City’s play-off run-in, playing every minute in our extra-time wins over Liverpool and Arsenal before tonight’s result against the Red Devils.

And the midfielder highlighted City’s hard work en route to the final as well as the relief to get the job done in 90 minutes.

“Of course we’re all buzzing with the win”, began Gray.

“It’s been a long journey to get here with the league and then three games in the play-offs with two of them going to extra-time and a tough win tonight so we’re all happy.

“I’ll be honest I was feeling a little bit leggy towards the end of the game.  I think that comes with the two games going to extra-time.

“But, yeah, I’m happy that the boys pushed through and we got a confident result.”
