It’s your Saturday media round-up!

In today’s media watch we hear from the opposition ahead of our first Premier League home game of the season, we take a look at predictions surrounding our clash with Huddersfield and also reflect on the England U20s’ recent Women’s World Cup result.

First up, we hear what opposition boss David Wagner had to say about our upcoming meeting, as he reflected on our FA Cup match from the 2016/17 season.

“We were brave and able to trust ourselves (when taking on City),’” said Wagner, as quoted by the Yorkshire Post. “This was the most important thing.

“We have to show we are brave in this stadium. We must be brave and search for this situation. We lost the rematch in the cup 5-1.

“But, even in this game, we were brave. In the first game against City in the Premier League, we lost late. The players worked their socks off. This is what we have to make sure we do again. Show bravery and fight and work at your best.

“After three years here, everyone knows what we have done and what we are capable of and not capable of, how different teams and managers collect their points, I think nobody should care. If we collect points by parking the bus, let’s do it. If we have to do it in a different manner, let’s do that. There is no one way.”

Next up we turn our attention to Mark Lawrenson’s predictions on BBC. This week, the pundit went head-to-head with singer Tom Grennan as they predict the scores for this weekend’s Premier League clashes.

Both believe that City will win, with Lawrenson eyeing a 3-0 win, while Grennan sees us getting one goal more over the Terriers and has predicted 4-0.

“As I speak, the full extent of Kevin de Bruyne‘s knee injury has not been revealed,” the broadcaster writes. “It is a blow, but Manchester City have got so many good players that they can cope, although at some stage they will obviously miss him.

“Huddersfield lost heavily at home to Chelsea last time out and it is hard to see them preventing a similar scoreline at Etihad Stadium.

“Yes, the Terriers drew 0-0 here last season, but City had already won the title by then. You know Huddersfield will park the bus again, but I don’t see them holding out for another point.”

Finally, four of Nick Cushing’s side are currently away with the England U20 World Cup squad, and yesterday they made history.

The Young Lionesses have reached the semi-final of the competition for the first time after securing a 2-1 victory over the Netherlands.

Even better, it was our very own Georgia Stanway who netted both goals to take England through to the next round of the competition!

Victoria Pelova put the Netherlands ahead after 12 minutes, but Stanway equalised eight minutes later. Our striker then went on to score the winner from a rebound after her initial shot hit the post and her follow-up was blocked.

What an incredible achievement! We are behind you all the way!

That’s all for today’s media round up, but will be back tomorrow morning ahead of our match against Huddersfield.
