What are the Manchester City-centric headlines dominating the back pages this Monday morning?

There’s more reaction to the news Pablo Zabaleta will be leaving the Club at the end of the season and reports suggesting a potential transfer target currently playing in Italy.

That transfer rumour is where we’ll begin and the man in question is 18-year-old goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, who The Sun believe is being considered by the Blues.

Mike McGrath writes: “Pep Guardiola has joined the race for Italian keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

“The AC Milan whizkid, 18, has just one year left on his current deal and has told pals he is heading to the Premier League.

“Manchester United had been leading the chase for the teenager but Guardiola is looking at a move to bring him to City.”

Meanwhile, Vincent Kompany has added his name to the long list of Zabaleta admirers since it was revealed this will be Argentine’s last season in sky blue.

And for his skipper it’s been a pleasure to play alongside him, which he explains in an interview carried by Goal.

Kompany told journalists: “He epitomises what the fans have loved about City for so many years even before our era.

“He’s tough, he gets into challenges where usually he has no right to win them but he gets out on the winning end. More than anything it’s his passion and his commitment to the club.

“He’s an exceptional professional and someone who has been extremely reliable. After that you can talk about his qualities because people maybe don’t appreciate what he’s been able to offer going forward over the years.

“His timing of his runs, the reading of the game and I think he’ll always be remembered for all his cuts and bruises.”

To conclude today’s media round-up we’ll hear from the man himself, with quotes that have been ran in several news outlets.

ESPN have the story in which Zaba discusses what will be a poignant final game in front of the home crowd on Tuesday evening.

“The appreciation from the fans has been massive. I would like to say thank you to them for the love and support they have shown me during my nine years at the club,” he told reporters.

“As a player you are happy to play games on the field and this is something you enjoy the most, but if you really care about the club, you feel something inside of you that you want to create something big and that was one of the main things for me.

“We had to work really hard to become a better club and look at where we are today. I am very happy and proud to have been part of this football club.”
