CITY 100: Part one of our new feature, celebrating a remarkable season...

Ton up! In celebration of our City Centurions' remarkable, record-smashing season, we launch a new summer feature...

With your help, we fondly recall '100 reasons to smile' from our sensational 2017/18 campaign, which ended in spectacular fashion as the Blues clinched an unprecedented 100 Premier League points.

Share your favourite memories from an incredible season - the awesome, the eye-catching; the heart-warming and pride-inducing - on Twitter @ManCity, no matter how big or small... and yours could be featured over the next four weeks.

Let's kick-off with a truly historic moment in the Club's history, courtesy (once again!) of Club legend Sergio Aguero...

1King Kun

Remember, remember 1 November…

It’s the day Sergio Aguero became City’s all-time leading goalscorer.

The Argentine leapfrogged Eric Brook’s 78-year record of 177 with a superb strike at Napoli to write his name into the City history books once more.

With the scores locked at 2-2, the Argentine ace collected a loose ball after Leroy Sane's rapid burst forward had been halted before composing himself and coolly curling beyond Pepe Reina and in the bottom corner - a wonderful finish, deservedly celebrated in style.

It took Kun just 264 appearances to surpass Brook's tally and it’s even more impressive considering 39 of Kun’s total appearances came from the bench.

Aguero also moved into the top five City League goalscorers of all-time, overtaking fifth placed Billy Gillespie’s 126 goals in a list also led by Brook who managed 159.

2Perfect Pep

Pep Guardiola set a new record of his own in January, becoming the first manager in history to win the Premier League Manager of the Month award four consecutive times.

The Catalan manager’s December accolade set a new benchmark as City’s remarkable unbeaten start to the season continued to receive deserved praise.

Displaying a combination of beautiful football, a defensive solidarity and an unwavering desire and never-say-die attitude, the Blues opened up a 15-point gap atop the Premier League table.

A run of 18 straight victories, which included an all-time best number of successive away wins, also set a new Premier League record. City, in fact, were unbeaten on home soil in the whole of 2017.

City impressed over the festive period, winning seven and drawing one of the eight domestic matches in December, with only Crystal Palace holding the Blues in the league while a much-changed, already-qualified Blues side were beaten by Shakhtar in Europe.

Guardiola's men scored 19 goals throughout the month, defeating title rivals in the process, and bagged four on three different occasions, seeing off Spurs, West Ham, Bournemouth, Newcastle, Swansea, Leicester and Manchester United.
