Asim Rahman

I’ve been a passionate City supporter since the ‘90s, attending matches for over 20 years. Growing up and living in Rusholme all my life, I would see fans walking to Maine Road. I was in awe of the giant Kippax stand being built, towering over everything in the area. I could hear the roar of the crowd from my house. The 1997 Kappa shirt, Oasis topping the charts—this was the era that sparked my lifelong love for our club.

It’s been a rollercoaster ride of emotions—from seeing our team get repeatedly relegated, going months without even seeing a goal, to celebrating the Gillingham win with fellow Blues in Rusholme in 1999, going to my first parade after the FA Cup in 2011, and being there for that win in Istanbul. No other fan base has supported a club from Division 2 all the way to winning the Treble. “We see things they’ll never see.”

I bring over 20 years of experience in voluntary and professional roles focused on diversity and inclusion, particularly addressing challenges faced by BME communities. I co-founded Blue Crescent OSC, the first official Muslim supporters’ club in England, right here at Manchester City. With lived experience and a professional background including community cohesion work and national youth representation, I’m committed to ensuring City remains a club where every fan—regardless of race, religion or background—feels a true sense of belonging. As someone of mixed heritage, I aim to amplify underrepresented voices and promote meaningful, inclusive engagement.
