Taylor targets swift turnaround after Conti Cup exit

Gareth Taylor says City will be ready to put things right when we welcome Arsenal to the Academy Stadium on Saturday.

The two sides played out an exciting Continental Cup semi-final showdown on Wednesday evening, with the Gunners coming out on top in extra time.

It was a frustrating end to what had been a positive performance, with Arsenal stopper Sabrina D'Angelo pulling off particularly impressive saves to deny Filippa Angeldahl and Hayley Raso.

But with the Gunners travelling to the Academy Stadium this weekend for a crucial Barclays Women's Super League clash, the boss is confident that City have what it takes to make amends at the first time of asking.

"It's one where we'll dust ourselves down and get ready," Taylor reflected.

"We've got to capitalise on them travelling up as well. It's the same for both teams. Neither manager probably wanted extra time tonight.

"I always feel better playing two games in three days.

"The first game maybe feels like a warm-up and you might not feel good between those games.

"But once the whistle's been blown on Saturday, we'll be ready."
