Manchester City Football School has launched its Summer Games Programme for 2026, giving young players the opportunity to continue their football development during the summer at the City Football Academy.
The 6 week programme is open to boys and girls aged 6 to 16 and starts week commencing 13 July 2026.
Each player will take part in two sessions per week, combining one technical training session with one weekly game.
What is the Summer Games Programme?
The Summer Games Programme is designed to help players develop through realistic game moments, match based scenarios and weekly fixtures.
Across the programme, players will work on technical development, decision making, confidence and creativity, while learning how to make purposeful actions within a team environment.
Sessions are led by Manchester City coaches and shaped by the coaching methodology developed at the City Football Academy.
Who is the programme for?
The programme is for young players aged 6 to 16 who enjoy playing football and want to improve their skills, confidence and understanding of the game.
It is suitable for boys and girls who are looking for a structured summer football programme that combines training with regular opportunities to play.
Programme format
The programme runs for 6 weeks, starting week commencing 13 July 2026.
Players will attend:
1 technical training session each week
Focused on skill development, game understanding and decision making.
1 Saturday game session each week
A weekly game day designed to help players apply what they have learned in a competitive setting.
What players will work on
During the programme, players will explore:
Match based scenarios and realistic game moments

Creativity, confidence and purposeful actions
Individual and group challenges
Awareness, adaptability and problem solving
The role of the individual within a team environment
The programme also looks at how Manchester City Men’s and Women’s First Team players apply key skills in game situations, helping young players connect training themes to weekly matchdays.
