Man City fans will be delighted to learn Sergio Aguero returned to training on Tuesday morning.

City’s leading scorer was involved in a car accident in Amsterdam at the end of last month and suffered a rib injury as a result of the impact.

Initial fears were that the Blues’ striker could be sidelined for several weeks, but today the Argentina star resumed light training with those not involved in international games.

Though it was a light session with a City physio, the City star is expected to gradually build up his fitness in the coming days as he edges towards a first team return.

The fact he is back on the training ground is a huge boost for everyone at the Club.

And lying just one goal shy of Eric Brook’s 78-year record of 177 goals, Aguero could soon be crowned the Blues’ all-time greatest goal-scorer.

There was more good news for the Blues, too, with Fabian Delph taking part in the morning session and  looking to have shaken off a minor knock suffered against Chelsea.
