City were aiming for a record 15th-straight WSL win ahead of kick-off, but a late brace from substitute Stina Blackstenius turned the game on its head in a manic three-minute spell.

The Swede was in the right place at the right time to pounce on an Arsenal knockdown to draw the visitors level, and then headed home Kim Little’s cross to end our impressive run.

Things had been going City’s way before then, with Lauren Hemp‘s clinical strike handing us the lead inside 17 minutes, and despite a few scares at the back, we looked like we’d hold on for a precious three points.

But it wasn’t to be, meaning the fate of the WSL title will be decided on the final day of the season.

Sunday’s clash also represented captain Steph Houghton‘s final home match before calling time on her incredible career, and the Club legend was given the send-off she deserved after the final whistle.
