Commanding shot stopper
Swiss youth international Arijanet Muric arrived at the Club in March 2015 from Grasshopper Club Zurich.
Standing at 6’6, Aro allies an imposing frame with excellent reflexes to make him a commanding shot-stopper and comfortable with the ball at his feet, he is certainly a modern ‘keeper.
He played regularly for the U18s during the 2016/17 season, making 18 league appearances as the young Blues swept all before them to finish unbeaten as U18 Premier League North champions.
He also had the honour of being No.1 for the FA Youth Cup campaign, playing all seven games and keeping two clean sheets as City finished runners-up for a third consecutive year.
Aro signed a new three-year contract in July 27 and was part of the first team squad that toured the US in 2017 pre-season.
Though loaned to NAC Breda for the 2018/19 campaign, Muric was recalled to City after Claudio Bravo was injured in training and ruled out for several months.
He made his debut for City in the Carabao Cup tie with Oxford United in 2018/19, keeping a clean sheet in a 3-0 win and recorded another shut-out in the next round against Fulham.
He was the penalty shoot-out hero in the quarter-final win over Leicester and played in both semi-final legs against Burton.
Though he was on the bench for the final against Chelsea, he fully deserved his winner's medal having kept four cleans sheets in five games along the way to Wembley.
