Brave, decisive defender...
Rico has progressed right through the academy since signing aged 8.
A versatile and tactically aware player, Rico primarily operates as a right-back but can also be deployed in holding midfield.
Rico made his debut for the Under-18s aged 15 and was named captain of the squad for the 2021/22 season.
He played 17 times as City lifted the title and was rewarded for his efforts with the Under-18s Player of the Year award.
Rico progressed to the EDS for the 2022/23 season and having impressed for City on our summer tour to the United States, he subsequently made his first team debut coming on as a substitute in our 4-0 Premier League win over Bournemouth in August.
Lewis was then afforded a first senior start in November's 3-1 Champions League win over Sevilla and made history by scoring, becoming the youngest player at 17 years and 346 days to find the target on his maiden Champions League start.
And his memorable campaign continued apace when he was handed a first Premier League start in late December, impressing once again as City beat Leeds 3-1 at Elland Road.
Lewis has since been in and around the senior team and become an important squad member of Pep Guardiola's first team squad.
He was named part of the squad to win the 2022/23 Premier League title and, after three appearances in the competition, he lifted the 2023 FA Cup.
Lewis was also named in the squad to win the Champions League and secure our first-ever Treble.
Starting the 2023/24 campaign off in a similar fashion to the end of the previous season, Lewis was part of the City squad to beat Sevilla in the UEFA Super Cup and in turn, lift the trophy for the first time in the Club's history.
