Bio

Skilful, dynamic midfielder

A player able to operate in a number of attacking positions, Nico has progressed right through the Manchester City age-groups since signing with the Academy aged eight.

An England youth international, Nico is most often deployed centrally as an attacking midfielder.

In 2021/22, he played regularly for the Under-18 Premier League title winning side and made the step up for his first taste of EDS football.

He continued this form in the 2022/23 season where he made 32 appearances in all competitions, scored 13 goals and assisted 14 as he captained the Under-18 team to Under-18 Premier League glory.

O’Reilly continued his development in the EDS squad for the 2023/24 season, winning the Academy Goal of the Year prize when he scored from the halfway line against Nottingham Forest.

2024 has continued to see O’Reilly grow in stature and was one of the few Academy players selected to attend the pre-season tour to the United States. In one of the friendlies, he scored his first senior goal for the Club against Barcelona, days after making his senior debut against Celtic.

And already in the 2024/25 season, the midfielder has made his professional senior debut. He started in City’s Community Shield penalty shoot-out triumph over Manchester United at Wembley Stadium.
