Bio
Forward Caroline Weir joined City from Liverpool in June 2018.
Scotland’s 2016 and 2020 Player of the Year Award had netted six goals over the course of the 2017/18 season, catching the eye of Nick Cushing.
She made the move to Manchester in a bid to challenge for trophies and make a Champions League return.
Weir, who moved through the ranks at Arsenal, Bristol City and Liverpool describes herself as an attacking midfielder who is eager to create. The Scot likes to be amongst the goals and has made a name for herself as a scorer of sensational goals, especially in Manchester Derbies!
The playmaker has netted four goals against Manchester United, including a 25-yard rocket in the first professional meeting at the Etihad Stadium, and two exquisite chips, as well as a host of spectacular strikes throughout her City career.
Technically gifted, she has won four trophies with the Club: two Continental Cups and two FA Cups, having scored a brilliant brace in our most recent Conti Cup success over Chelsea at Plough Lane.
She was also named Player of the Match in our 2019 penalty shoot-out victory over Arsenal at Sheffield United's Bramall Lane.
Under Gareth Taylor's stewardship, she has improved her goalscoring return and was awarded a place in Team GB's Olympic spot as one of just three non-English players to be representing the squad in Tokyo.
The Scot will depart for pastures new this summer, having made 124 appearances in all competitions, finding the back of the net on 38 occasions including three memorable Goal of the Season winning efforts in consecutive home Manchester derbies.
