City academy pair, Denzeil Boadu and Cameron Humphreys, have been gaining valuable international experience for England u17s at the Nordic Tournament.
Both City representatives played some part in all three of England’s games to date in the competition, against the Faroe Islands, Finland and Norway.
Denzeil, who signed on for City as a first year scholar this summer, grabbed a goal in the first game of the tournament, scoring the winner against the Faroe Islands. The striker played all 90 minutes against Norway and came on as a second half sub against Finland.
Cameron, who is still eligible to play at u16 level, impressed boss Kenny Swain sufficiently to play every minute of the three games. The young centre back will have benefited significantly from his international experience in a higher age group.
Finland topped the group on goal difference, while England had to settle for third place on the same number of points.
The young Lions will now play one final match on Saturday against Norway, although it will be a different team as the hosts entered two sides into the competition.
