About Ellen

Born and raised in Aylesbury, White has become one of the world’s leading goalscorers and will go down in history as a true legend for Club and country.

In 2019, the forward moved to the Academy Stadium from Birmingham City and has enjoyed a hugely successful career in blue, scoring 34 goals in 90 appearances while helping her side to 2019/20 FA Cup and 2021/22 Continental Cup glory.

Internationally, the striker first wore the England shirt when she was scouted for the Under-16 squad.

Having risen through the ranks to earn over 100 caps for her country, she has helped the Lionesses lift the 2013 Cyprus Cup, the 2019 SheBelieves Cup, and the 2020 Arnold Clark Cup.

White also takes the crown as England’s all-time record goal scorer, three-time England Player of the Year, and Great Britain’s leading markswoman at the Olympic Games.

Notably, she was Team GB’s only goalscorer at the 2020 tournament, netting a glittering hat-trick against Australia.

Though she is no stranger to individual acclaim, having earned the WSL Golden Boot award and being shortlisted for the Ballon d’Or, White much prefers to shy away from the spotlight and humbly go about her business.

A true team player who puts the needs of her colleagues above her own, several members of Gareth Taylor’s squad have praised her energy, dedication and bravery.

Grounded and personable with a tireless work ethic, the forward is known for her goalscoring instinct, intelligent movement and excellent positioning between the lines.

Her quick passes, along with her ability to create chances and find the back of the net, makes her one of the first names on the teamsheet for City and England.

Thankfully, one of football’s most distinguished names isn’t going anywhere – she penned a two-year contract extension in May 2021, committing her to the Club until the summer of 2023.

Speaking about the extension at the time, Head Coach Gareth Taylor said: “Ellen has been a top leader for us – she’s led the line not only on the pitch, but in the dressing room as well…she’s the perfect example to young players of what it takes to get to the very top of the game.”

In a matter of days, will White add a Euros medal to her dazzling CV?
