Perrone joins UD Las Palmas on loan

Maximo Perrone has joined Spanish La Liga side UD Las Palmas on loan for the 2023/24 season.

The 20-year-old moved to City from Velez Sarsfield in his native Argentina in January, where he’d featured 33 times since making his senior bow in March 2022.

His debut for Pep Guardiola’s men would come from the bench in a 4-1 Premier League win over Bournemouth in February of this year.

A further appearance would follow as part of our FA Cup campaign, with the midfielder a late substitute in our 3-0 fifth round win over Bristol City three days later.

Perrone went on to feature in several matchday squads for the remainder of the campaign, gaining valuable senior experience in our pursuit of domestic and European glory.
His first campaign at the Etihad Stadium would end with City named Champions of Europe for the first time in our history, claiming a historic treble in the process.

The Argentine was also part of the squad that edged out Sevilla to win the Super Cup earlier this month on penalties in Athens.

And Perrone’s development will now continue for 2023/24 in Spain, with him joining Las Palmas on their return to La Liga.

The Canary Islands side finished second in the Segunda Division, ending a five-year stint outside the Spanish top flight.

Everyone at Manchester City wishes Maximo the best of luck during his spell at UD Las Palmas.
