Three second half strikes from Ferran Torres, Aguero and an Alvaro Gonzalez own goal secured a fifth win in six group games for City, ensuring we went into the knockout stages of the competition with an unbeaten record for the second successive season.
And after the game, Bernardo was full of praise for the Argentine.
"Everyone knows he's [Sergio Aguero] important. He is one of the best players the club has ever had and a great goal scorer," said the Portuguese midfielder.
"He is also a great guy and personality to have around the team and its great to have him back."
Despite already topping the group, Bernardo said City were delighted to have signed off the group campaign with a victory.
"It was a good game. We were already qualified but its good to finish with a win and now we go onto the next [game] in the knockout stages," he added.
Our qualification as winners from Group C secures our a place in the round of the 16 for the eighth season in a row, but Silva says City ae hungry to go even further than ever before in the competition.
"It's a good start for us," Bernardo asserted.
"We are into the round of 16 again and our goal is to do better than the last three seasons, so we will focus to do that."
Next up for Pep Guardiola and his side is a short trip across the City to face Manchester United for the first Manchester derby of the season, and Bernardo believes it is important to carry the momentum into the weekend's trip to Old Trafford.
"When you win it's always easy to go to the next game it's easier to win again and again," he insisted.
"We want to keep the momentum going in a tough game against United on Saturday and we want to keep winning.”
