Manchester City Women booked their place in the semi-finals of the UEFA Women's Champions League with victory over Fortuna Hjorring. Here's everything you need to know ahead of the final four...

Goals from Carli Lloyd and Lucy Bronze across the two legs saw City past the Danish club but what can they expect when they come up against French giants Lyon? 

When and where?

City will welcome Lyon to the Academy Stadium on either the 22/23 April before travelling to the France for the second leg on either 29/30 April.

How did they get here?

City have seen off Zvezda Perm (6-0 agg), Brondby (2-1 agg) and Fortuna Hjorring (2-0 agg) to make it to the final four of Europe's elite competition.

Lyon began the tournament with a 10-2 aggregate victory over Norwegian club Avaldsnes. They followed that up by beating Zurich 17-0 across two legs before a 2-1 defeat of fellow tournament heavyweights Wolfsburg in the quarter-finals.

Top scorers

Attacking full-back Lucy Bronze is City's most prolific player in the competition with three strikes.

Experienced France internationals Eugenie Le Sommer and Camille Abily have both scored five goals in this season's tournament for Lyon.

Previous best

This is City's first year in the competition - a fact which makes the achievements of Nick Cushing's even more impressive.

Lyon are one of the most prestigious clubs in Europe and have lifted the trophy on three occasions (2011, 2013, 2016).

Players to watch out for

City's Carli Lloyd will face off with international teammate and fellow World Cup winner and Olympic Gold medalist Alex Morgan who joined Lyon in January. Morgan, who plays as a striker, is also regarded as one of the brightest talents in the world.

Lyon also have a number of French internationals including Sarah Bouhaddi, Wendie Renard, Eugenie Le Sommer amd Camille Abily.

Other semi-final

Barcelona will go head-to-head with Paris in the other tie in the final four. The two winners will meet in the final at the Cardiff City Stadium on 1 June.
