MCWFC v Chelsea: Match preview

Manchester City Women will look to kick-start their season on Sunday with an FA Women’s Cup triumph over Chelsea Ladies.

The Blues, having lost both of their FA Women’s Super League games without scoring a goal, face the London outfit in the quarter-finals of the competition, which is one of three tournaments Nick Cushing’s side are involved in this season.

As a clash between two FA WSL sides, the Blues will be anticipating a tough test and will go into the game in the knowledge that the winner of the tie will face either Birmingham City Ladies or Arsenal Ladies in the semi-finals.

To get to this stage, City narrowly defeated Reading Women in the Fifth Round with a double from Toni Duggan. Chelsea needed an extra-time goal from Rachel Williams to progress, after their clash with Bristol Academy ended 1-1 after 90 minutes.

This game is included in the Super Sunday double header, as City EDS play their final league game of the regular season against Aston Villa at the Etihad Stadium at midday before MCWFC take on Chelsea at 2pm.

To mark the occasion, the Club are offering FREE entry to both games for MCFC seasonticket holders, whilst non-seasonticket holders can buy one ticket for both games at a cost of just £3 for adults and £1 for Concessions (Under 16’s and Over 65s).

The Ticket Office and Supporter Services are open Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5:30pm (closed Sunday and Bank Holiday). The Ticket Office located in BT City Square will open on Sunday 27 April for ticket sales from 11am until 2.15pm.

Car parking is also available free of charge to all supporters in Blue H, accessible from Alan Turing Way.

All tickets are sold subject to availability and are issued subject to Manchester City Football Club Limited’s 2013-14 home match terms and conditions of sale, and any applicable ground regulations.
