The City winger scored one, assisted another and had two goals disallowed during the European Championship Group C qualifier.

Leroy played the full 90 minutes as Germany moved within three points of leaders Northern Ireland.

And Sane’s City team-mate Ilkay Gundogan was also on target converting a 26th-minute penalty before being replaced on 53 minutes.

Elsewhere, Kevin De Bruyne got a full 90 minutes under his belt as Belgium beat Scotland 3-0.
