Douglas Luiz has left Manchester City to join Aston Villa on a permanent deal.

The Brazilian midfielder departs having spent two seasons on loan at Girona since his summer 2017 arrival from Vasco da Gama.

He made 17 appearances for the Spanish outfit in the 2017/18 campaign, before returning to Manchester and starting two games on last season’s summer tour of the United States.

Luiz played 29 times during his second spell at Girona and received a call up for the Brazil squad for the Toulon Tournament in June 2019, where he was named the competition’s best player.

Everyone at Manchester City wishes Douglas all the best for his future career.
