City set three new Premier League records

RECORDS TUMBLE: That feeling when you break another Premier League record!

RECORDS TUMBLE: That feeling when you break another Premier League record!

Manchester City’s 3-1 victory over Brighton means we have set a new Premier League points total.

The 97 we have amassed sees us surpass Chelsea’s record of 95 with one match left to play.

We have also broken the Premier League record for most wins in a season.

City have managed 31 in 37 games so far, which eclipses the 30 Chelsea registered in 2016-17 and equals the all-time English top-flight record Tottenham’s double-winning side secured in 1960-61.

It also equals our Club record of 31 wins in a single season, which we managed under Kevin Keegan in 2001-02 in a 46-game campaign in the second tier of English football.

And the win over Chris Hughton’s side means we have also set a new Premier League record for goals scored in a single season, underlining our status as the most potent attacking side in recent history.

We now have 105 – two more than the 103 Chelsea bagged in 2009-10. The last team to register more than 103 in a top-flight campaign were Tottenham, who scored 111 in 1962-63.

Everyone at City would like to congratulate Pep Guardiola, his players and staff on a record-breaking campaign.
